everyone who is against these commercial campaigns are 100% right-wing, batshit nutjobs who need to unbutton that collar button so you can breathe and not be so uptight. Any NORMAL person would laugh it off and think this is funny…which it IS. There’s a reason there are barely any republican comedians, it’s simply because they’re NOT FUNNY or their target audience DOESN’T LUGH OR KNOW HOW TO TAKE A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!

I HATE these ads. This kid is a brat.
And it’s another crappy “your kids are smarter than you” campaign.
We’ve seen quite enough of this junk what with the kids coming home from school and telling us how to eat, drink, recycle and conduct our lives.

This makes me not want to get a Toyota.

And why is the kid dressed like that? He looks like a wannabe.

Worst ad campaign I’ve ever seen. I was seriously considering a Camry.

Nice spot, makes me laugh. Love the comment from the kid about parents being lame. And I’m a parent.

I didn’t think it was possible, but this ad actually repulses me to a new degree I never thought attainable. Marketing chiefs are so desperate for cutey mascots that they pull out all stops in an attempt to find the next character with recyclable quotes to spew at the target audience. Now the marketing chiefs have found something they feel is credible: a precocious, spoiled brat of a child who manages to be the most irritating thing on current TV.

Please, get rid of him. Thank you.

    Dear Toyota, (Post 1)
You’ve a globally recognized fine product but you’ve successfully lost face and alienated chances many will ever consider or purchase any one of your other products. Many agree with feedback left by almost every viewer regarding your decision to feature an awful child character as a selling point for your product. We realize your market demographics may be aimed at Gen Y or possibly Gen X that may accept this type of behavior from their children, many others would not.

  13. mwlanz
    November 8th, 2010 at 23:51 | #13

    Dear Toyota, (Continued Post 2)
Targeting a specialized social segment has insulted 80% of the potential market you may have been reaching for. Ask yourself, would you tolerate this smart mouth, disrespectful behavior in your own household, really? The ad campaign is not cleaver, cute or witty by any means and doesn’t provide anyone a warm fuzzy. Featuring a child actor telling his parents they’re “lame” is an act of desperation and disrespect to all future and new potential customers.

    November 9th, 2010 at 00:31 | #14

    Dear Toyota, (Continued Post 3)
Every time many see this advertisement they want to tell the portrayed brat if he wants to have a different form of transportation go out and get a job to make the car and insurance payments. If dear old mom and dad’s reliable transportation is not good enough then ride a bike or walk Toyota. There is always public transportation available and how many units is that going to sell for Toyota then?

  15. mwlanz
    November 9th, 2010 at 00:51 | #15

    Dear Toyota, (Continued Post 4)
In this day and age when many are going without or doing well to have a job, keep a roof over their heads and food at hand in this economy, just getting by with what they have at hand, trying to sell your vehicle line by insulting the buying public is nothing more then irresponsible and inappropriate. Please consider quickly pulling this advertisement from the airways and carefully consider the advertising firm that came up with the concept for this abomination.

  16. mwlanz
    November 9th, 2010 at 01:22 | #16

    Dear Toyota, (Continued Post 5)
You might consider having that kid attend your next board meeting telling your CEO’s how lame they are for choosing such a repulsive commercial idea as a selling point. Perhaps a reality TV show having all those who approved this campaign live in a house for a year with the disrespecting child actor who criticizes them regularly for everything they have or provide. That may be more entertaining then this commercial and a better selling point…

  17. mwlanz
    November 9th, 2010 at 02:03 | #17

    Dear Toyota, (Continued Post 6)
Thank you for your time and allowing the public to post feedback. Please don’t attempt to sell your product line through passive-aggressive adolescent insults aimed towards the general buying public with spendable cash in hand. You’re reputation precedes you and doesn’t allow or call for this cynical type of advertising concepts with your brand name and past reputation. I’m sure most would agree Toyota Corporation is above this low brow advertising.

    A) Parents are the ones making the car choice, not kids. I don’t care what you try to force in our face there are NO parents out there who buy a car based on what their kid thinks is cool

    B) Parents LIKE embarrassing their kids, it’s more fun that way.

@ShadowKurahk Again, Thank You! If the kids today weren’t so materialistic and judgmental, then Mike wouldn’t be ashamed to ride in his parents vehicle. And whats more lame? buying a 30k+? vehicle and teaching your child no value of money, or putting it to good use. Don’t get me wrong I do like the new Highlander, but this commercial, does not explain why i should buy it.

id take the roadie before some overpriced plastic CUV!
the roadmaster had a REAL frame, REAL driveline, REAL Engine. even if this was a 305 powered 91 it is a better car than the highlander.
any kid i know including my own would rather be seen in the roadmaster
