2010 Toyota Prius V Car Review

twitter.com – I’ve had my new Toyota Prius for a couple of weeks now, and I have to say – I love it! I wanted to drive it for awhile before I attempted to review it for all of you. This was to allow me to make a serious decision as to how I liked the car, and gave me the opportunity to try everything out! There are a lot of gadgets, gizmos and gauges in this little baby. It’s definitely an awesome piece of machinery, and one I’d definitely recommend you take a look at if you’re looking for a new ride. chris.pirillo.com – http

Well, by going. Havent you ever seen a family of 5 travel in a small five passenger car? Whats the problem nowadays?? Why is everybody complaining over some petty crap???

Its not that people don’t need a V8. Its that V6′s today are equivalent to V8′s of the past. They are much stronger yet more fuel efficient. I wouldnt say an Escape SUV is a super large family vehicle. There are much larger vehicles out there. However, I have driven a 4 Cylinder non Hybrid Escape and was impressed with its power and gas peddle response to engine.

What type of cars from the 80′s that would get 40-50 mpg? I have heard that diesels get very high mileage, but I havent seen the proof because I have yet to drive one. If you paid $45.00 for a tank of Diesel which costs 3.00/gallon but gets you 30 mpg and $37.50 for Regular Gasoline which costs 2.50/gallon but gets you 25mpg what would be the difference? Nothing. Because if you had filled a regular gasoline tank with $45.00 you would be getting 30mpg also.

Why would driving a Hybrid Cost you much more than a regular car? What type of Hybrid are you talking about?

@RocRizzo I think driving a hybrid will cost you much more than a regular car!

you don,t have to buy a hybrid to get great mpg. their are cars from the 80s and 90s that get 40-50 mpg and cost a lot less .i like hybrids but would rather have a car that is paid for and gets high mpg .got a diesel 4 door jk that gets 45-48 mpg .it,s not what you buy it,s what you make .think out side the box.

A well made video!! Well spoken, informative, clear instructions, inspirational, intellectual, efficient, foreign, geeky, fun to be sparingly, and most of all educational. The prius is by far the best car ever made and will go into the history books as a legend in automotive technology innovation. You did a fantastic job of making the video. Keep it up!

@drMINDdamage First of all, you don’t need a V8. A more economical V6 would suffice well. As far as needing a larger vehicle for a larger family, that is fine. You do know that Ford makes the Escape Hybrid SUV, which should accommodate your needs? It only has a 4 cylinder engine, and gets 34 mpg.
The V8 engine is so 20th century. Move up to the 21st century, in which you live.

@RocRizzo Tell me how exactly am i going to go to a vacation with my 5 member familly with a ”car” that size? Sorry but i prefer my V8 truck wich is much safer ,has much more space and will not break down within a year cuz this toyota will cost you much more when the engine problems start!

Yeah and in a few months all these hi technologies will be fucked up and you will spend tousands of dollars on repairs! Toyota sucks! If you want to be economical buy a VW diesel! Anyway i dont want and i love my american V8!

@srlooking Yes clean emissions are the obvious goal. I still think battery technology and improvement is a waste of money and they should focus on a completely different type of energy.

    @SSThq because?

    March 24th, 2011 at 03:30 | #17

@FullyNimble Absolutely agree – clean emission cars is the absolute goal, same goal for all our product needs. The purpose of hybrid technology is to reduce ‘petrol’ use, and it does over a car of the same size. I personally am using 45 liters less a week over my 2.0L car on the same commute – and with some hybrids over 500,000K this is a lot of fuel saved – it has raised concern of Nickel mining, somehow ignored for 100+years and even used in ‘Nickel Coins’ , new battery technology will come.

@srlooking First off, i did some research. Just because nickel is in many products doesn’t mean it’s not harmful. Besides you can’t recycle acid rain at the mining cites. This car has less miles per gallon and it uses a petrol engine to charge a battery, kinda defeating the point. Sure it’s a great though, until you put it in use, but let’s think about something to produce clean emissions, not a different kind of unclean emissions.

@srlooking And now you’re trying to make the Prius sound like a good driving car? If you have driven anything other than economy cars which focus on nothing but milage, you should know that the acceleration, braking, handling, etc. are pretty bad. There are very few FWD “driver’s cars”. At least the Tesla won’t encourage hypermiling.

They HYPERMILE, which by definition is extremely slow. in CA, they used to be able to drive alone in the carpool lane…but they did so SLOWLY in the fastest lane.

To all of you who label the Prius as “gay,” I ask: How can a car have a sexual preference?
I often find that people who are insecure in their personhood, are the ones who have to drive huge, gas guzzling boats. If they all drove more reasonable cars, the demand for gasoline would go down, and the price for gasoline would go down, so thanks for raising the price of gas for all of us, you truck drivers with one person in them.

@Cosmo1093 what lovely comments, you must be so happy with your life that you are so concerned with the Prius and the people who like them. And those charming comments, your parents must be so proud of you.I love driving and I love driving my Prius, I have a great love for cars and owned many different types. Can’t wait for full electric cars like Tesla are working on (I suppose you will hate that as well) It’s a car and a few million people seem to like them – why label them in your negative way

@kinggzz Perfect – I totally agree I have 2005 iTech and am usually in front of everyone as well – average 4.6L/100k over the last 32000km. My first non euro car in 20 years and I love it!

@srlooking Nice, petty junior-high level insults. And you’re defending the Prius? That makes you A. a fudge-packing butt-pirate, B. a stingy niggard, or C. a tree-hugger who has their head so far up their ass that they actually think they’re making a positive difference in the world…or possibly all three.

The fact that you think the Prius is a good car means that you have no interest in cars or driving, that you suck at driving, and that should stay the hell off of the roads.
