MORE 2009 NYAS @ INSIDELINE.COM: www.edmunds.com The first Nismo Z didn’t come around until the end of the Nissan 350Z’s model cycle, but Nissan isn’t wasting any time with the 370Z version. The 2009 Nissan Nismo 370Z hits US dealerships in June, and this time it has a little more power and torque than normal Z-cars, thanks to a 350-horsepower version of the 3.7-liter VQ-series V6. Nissan expects the track-focused Nismo model to account for 5 percent of all Z coupe sales. As with the original Nismo Z, the chassis and bodywork for the 2009 Nismo 370Z have been developed by Autech, the Japanese company that prepares Nissan’s entries for the Japanese Super GT (JGTC) racing series. But Nissan has been more heavily involved in the engineering of the 2009 Nismo Z, and the automaker had final approval on the design. Probably that’s why Randy Rodriguez, the Nissan Design America designer who’s credited with the initial sketches for the regular 370Z, is pretty happy with how the 2009 Nismo 370Z turned out. “I think it’s much better than the last version,” he tells us. “The last Nismo was kind of busy and didn’t really accentuate the design very much. There was a lot of stuff added to it, and this one seems to be a little bit more refined.” At a glance, though, the 2009 Nissan Nismo 370Z appears to compromise the new Z-car’s effort to slim down to pure sports-car dimensions. The Nismo’s wheelbase remains 100.4 inches, but at 174.3 inches in overall length, it’s 7 inches longer than

    July 26th, 2010 at 05:13 | #17

Interior looks a LOT nicer than the Altima… however, the only nitpick are the airconditioner vents.. they look like something you’d find in an 80′s Oldsmobile.. it doesn’t look like it should belong in a 2010 Nissan Maxima.

@hithur Toyota is in just as much debt as GM, and was way before the big 3 story came to light. Mitsubishi motors is being abandoned by Mitsubishi as they want no connection to the motoring section of their electronics. Nissan has been in debt for the past 3 years. I’m just saying, if people thought these cars were great and were so much better than American. They wouldn’t be in so much debt and as much debt as GM. BTW, ford never took money, but guess who did? Nissan.

  27. hithur
    July 26th, 2010 at 10:35 | #27

@Texarmageddon ill believe consumer reports over what i see on the “side of the road” any day. money really has nothing to do with the quality of their cars. you obviously do not know the complexities of the economy or the market. if your logic is correct, the US must be the biggest piece of shit country in the world since we have trillions of dollars in debt. you seem to be proving my point by saying “money is proof”. did you forget about what happened to GM or are you just ignoring that fact?

  28. Texarmageddon
    July 26th, 2010 at 10:44 | #28

@Texarmageddon and why did i say something

  29. Texarmageddon
    July 26th, 2010 at 11:21 | #29

@hithur I’m not going to even argue with a guy who doesn’t know how these reliability test are composed. I mean seriously, I’m sick of this reliability speech. You’re going to believe a freaking magazine when the majority of Japanese automakers have been in debt? Except for honda and subaru.. you don’t have anything. Money is proof. Not something article. Money proved who made better cars. Nissan/Toyota/Mitsubishi would NOT be in debt if people felt their cars were better.

    July 26th, 2010 at 12:16 | #30

@stevenmorookian16 possibly haha, but im just speaking from personal experience, i think we should just agree to disagree, because both of us seem to be too stubborn to change our views. i have nothing against American cars; the mustang gt or the corvette are great vehicles for example, i would actually purchase these over a Camry any day. but all in all i still believe a Japanese or European car will outlast an American vehicle

  31. stevenmorookian16
    July 26th, 2010 at 13:02 | #31

@hithur All the american cars I have had experience with are long lasting reliable automobiles. The only reliable foreign cars are Honda and Toyota. Maybe where you live there is an American automobile hater in your neighborhood, and he sabatoges every American car he comes by.

  32. hithur
    July 26th, 2010 at 13:49 | #32

@hithur oops, i meant search for reliable cars, different search results come up haha…but it doesnt really matter

  33. hithur
    July 26th, 2010 at 14:44 | #33

@Texarmageddon o and btw in my city most of the cars on the side of the road are japanese or european

  34. hithur
    July 26th, 2010 at 14:50 | #34

@Texarmageddon what you see on the road in your city is not factual. did you take an individual count of the cars? if not…it is not factual.

google is your friend, search for car reliability and check the first two links, then come back to me…. maybe you should just stick to playing guitar, your pretty good at it

  35. Texarmageddon
    July 26th, 2010 at 15:05 | #35

@hithur I’m a tool? I’m sorry i make my judgments off of factual evidence only. Frankly, i see enough evidence in my city not to believe you. I mean jesus christ, I see just as many japanese carsas i do american cars on the side of the road. What’s going to be the main excuse? O well that person just didn’t take care of his car.

  36. hithur
    July 26th, 2010 at 15:47 | #36

@Texarmageddon hmmm you claim to be some intelligent laid back guy on your profile, but then you make yourself look like a tool by calling me a tool. bravo.

    nice

  37. hithur
    July 26th, 2010 at 16:09 | #37

@stevenmorookian16 ok well my friend has a 92 civic with 250000 miles on it and it still runs smooth. we can pull my friend this my friend that all day but in the end, american CARS are the least reliable. im not talking about trucks, i dont know enough about trucks to say anything about them. and yes you are right about the maintenance; im saying if you put a ford and a toyota through the same use, the ford will be the first one to fall apart.

why does everyone hate this car i wish i could afford it.

  41. stevenmorookian16
    July 26th, 2010 at 17:49 | #41

Do not buy this car. You will just end up selling it for 5 cents a pound at the scrap yard.

  42. stevenmorookian16
    July 26th, 2010 at 17:57 | #42

@hithur BTW my friend has a 1997 ford mustand with over 210000 miles on it, he drives like a maniac and he doesn’t take very good care of that car. Still running strong.

  43. stevenmorookian16
    July 26th, 2010 at 18:36 | #43

@hithur hickfuck? You pathetic little chink. It all depends on how you drive dumbass and if you maintain your vehicle dumbass. BTW Ford makes the best trucks in the world. No way can a toyota truck can pull as much weight as a ford and still last as long. America makes the best vehicles. You are just assuming shit and making up numbers. most straight 6 f-150′s are still on the road today.

  44. hithur
    July 26th, 2010 at 18:56 | #44

@stevenmorookian16 yea im sure there are some american vehicles that will last a long time…simple probability will give you that…out of say 100 f-150s 10-20 of those will last quite a while….but hmmm the other 80 probably died off a while back…and trucks are a different story…they are meant to take abuse…im talking about your everyday average lets say ford taurus, no way it can outlast a honda accord of the same year or a camry…so go die you hickfuck

  45. stevenmorookian16
    July 26th, 2010 at 19:09 | #45

@hithur Thats why my 1995 Ford f-150 has 274k miles and still runs strong? People say I abuse that truck when I pull around my 5600 lb bobcat on my 1600 lb trailer with the bed full of scrap metal, but I think my truck likes the abuse. You just cannot kill an American straight 6.

  46. hithur

Great car, but same price you can get 5.0 mustang with more torque and more power.. sure it might not handle as good as the 370z Nismo, but face it, most people who buy sports cars never use FULL? potential of its handling by never going to a race track.. so I would stick with more power and fun with the 5.0 mustang

@JGuarrera61096 Nismo 370Z is a track car. Imagine if it had leather in it on a hot day at the track. The driver will hate the leather. Plus the cloth grips the driver better through the turns on a track. Leather is for the regular civilized Z.
