@FireOFK traditionally that was correct, but modern unibody designs need no additional bracing to maintain rigidity. Many of the newer convertibles have no additional bracing over their hardtop versions.

the 370z roadster was built from the ground up as a roadster, nissan didnt want to make the same mistake and we can clearly see that :) i like it

I’m getting this car. I’ve always wanted a drop top. Can’t wait to get a blow job from my girlfriend while driving it down the highway with the top down. Hope I drive past my wife!

What a surprise. Your in New York at an auto show, and you can still hear police sirens.

    December 3rd, 2010 at 08:11 | #19

I don’t know if I would buy this version.. In my opinion the coupe looks much better. They probably could have done a lot more for the styling of the soft top to make it look a little less cheap. The way it flops down in my opinion just makes it look fragile as hell, though this could be just a demo version and not the full production variant.

    December 3rd, 2010 at 09:21 | #21

um are you serious? all the motors and such to make the roof workits not like its just cloth vs metal you are comparing here

  22. murderer11
    December 3rd, 2010 at 09:39 | #22

i agree with FireOFK demonic…you dont really know what the fuck your talkin about bud…think of all the hardware needed to make the top go in and out in 20 seconds with the only thing you have to do is press a fucking button….otherwise every fucking car on this planet would be a rag top because they would be cheaper? but you go check out your shitty little pontiac sunfires and why do they all have a hard top? simple its cheaper to make…just get over the fact that your wrong

  23. FireOFK
    December 3rd, 2010 at 09:49 | #23

you are still wrong I work in a place that Builds cars so I think I know what I’m talking about. you are still making the same wrong argument my friend “”with a coupe you have to put of course a full metal roof on top where as with the roadster all you have to do is make a fabric roof that can fold up”" the cars that have the TOP OPEN you have to REINFORCE the body more in order to have the ability to be stable, i’m not sure if you understand what exactly i’m talking about :)

  24. demonicBerith
    December 3rd, 2010 at 10:38 | #24

that actually not true because have you seen the pontiac solstice gxp the roadster convertible version is less expensive than the coupe it actually all depends on the company the car is made by. with a coupe you have to put of course a full metal roof on top where as with the roadster all you have to do is make a fabric roof that can fold up. And yes i do know stuff about cars i helped my brother fix his after he hit a deer. his car wasnt damaged that bad but still wouldn’t run at first

  25. FireOFK
    December 3rd, 2010 at 11:20 | #25

well no disrespect to you but I guess you don’t know much about the car design because the roadster is more expensive to build than the coupe the Rodster has to be reinforced more to make it rigid enough to have the top open or be able to hold strong enough to have the top open with out the safety compromise therefor more time more effort and more material = higher cost. in your mind you might say that its just a 370z coupe and they just didn’t put the top on but you would be wrong

Awesome cars! I’m really looking hard at the 370Z as a top choice for my next car purchase in 2012! Affordable, fun to drive, sexy looks, what’s not to love? (Ok, it being only a 2-seater does hurt it some but I can easily live with that!) If I could afford it (and the insurance and maintenance!) I’d go for the GT-R but the fact that the 370Z can hold its own against the GT-R for half the price has me impressed! And finally, calling it the “Zed” definitely sounds much cooler than just “Z”!

@PijnigeR see, people around the world enjoy good times in their Zed. Older version to newest version. I don’t understand why some people on this post has to flame you about your car. I can only imagine they did not have the opportunity to enjoy your Zed, or any Zed..hahaha.

@golferchin76 Awesome. The other day at a parking lot I saw a bone stock grey 2+2 Twin Turbo (in Europe 2+2s are Twins aswell) in perfect condition. I parked mine right next to it and waited for the owner to come back. It was an elderly couple. I talked to the guy. He bought it new in 1990. He still drives it around with his wife on summerdays sometimes. Normally I don’t like 2+2s. But this one was beautiful!

@PijnigeR i love my 300zx i had back in college. It was a 7 yrs old pre-owned tt produced in 1990. so many good memories with it. It only cost me 15000 US dollars to buy. Had to sell it when I graduated and left the country back to Thailand. But every once in a while when I see one here (rare) I still smile because it STILL is a great car. It is a legend. Glad for you driving an award winning Z.

@chickenpax1 I have a list off mods that is a little too long to think of now to type. I spend too much money on the car. But if I had more I would be spending more on it. I love her:). But I can tell you that I have a new motor in it with Jim Wolf Turbos running at about 18-19 PSI (1.3 Bar).

    December 3rd, 2010 at 17:30 | #39

@PijnigeR so u have 300zx tt? can i see all the mods u have?? i liked z series from the beginning, but i think that they are looking worse and worse after 300z lol. 350 was ok then 370 just got ruined haha. how much did u put into ur car? how much psi? if u don’t mind, that is.

  40. PijnigeR
    December 3rd, 2010 at 17:35 | #40

@Reece2112 Hell no:) I’m very aware of that fact. But on the highway I’m faster than the 370Z and I manage to hang on very well to the R35 though. I’m not saying my car is as good or better than the others.

  41. Reece2112
    December 3rd, 2010 at 18:14 | #41

@PijnigeR yeah but does it stick to the road better than the 370z and the GT-R??? answer : NO

I love American Muscle cars….I’ve had a bunch….I am starting to like the Nissan cars. I have a G35 coupe….it’s fun to drive. Now I’m gettin interested in the 2011 Ford Mustang Cobra.

In The Netherlands the base 370Z is costs more than the Nismo 370Z in the US. A normal man can never buy that car, For me that’s not a problem. My 300ZX Twin Turbo is quicker:)

That 370Z has more power than you will ever need in a car…….actually so much I know I will get in trouble with it…..it’s hard to drive slow too!!! I gotta downgrade and go with 2 jet-skis instead!!!
